You say it’s your birthday? Take a free boat ride to Catalina Island
Meet for free in the community of Avalon or at the two quieter ports of Santa Catalina Island on your birthday. Catalina Express is giving the gift of a free round-trip ferry crossing from Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Dana Point.
The agreement: Catalina express offers free anniversary races every year, but the terms of that deal have changed for 2017.
Here’s how it works: You need to go to Catalina on your date of birth, and you need to bring a second person who purchases a full price adult ticket (even if it’s a senior, underage, etc.).
After that, you can choose to make the return trip (it takes about an hour each way) at any time within 30 days. Spend the day, weekend, or week exploring on foot along the Trans-Catalina Trail or in the air on a zipline. Kayaking, swimming, scuba diving or just lounging on the beach can also be part of the itinerary.
When: The offer is valid all year round, subject to availability.
Details: To take advantage of this offer, there are several steps to follow: Register on the company’s website, receive a confirmation email and make a reservation for two when you make your reservation.
And you must present a valid ID showing your date of birth to enjoy the free ride. Tickets cost $ 73 to $ 75, depending on which port you are departing from. This is the amount you will save – and the price of the ticket that your companion will pay.
But that’s not the only reason to spend your birthday on the island. You can also get discounts on items and activities like mini-golf, bike rentals, massages, and hotel rooms. Check out the discounts on Birthday Island here.
