All day visitors to any Texas state park will enter free on Sunday, November 14, in honor of serving and retired military personnel, a press release from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said.

This includes Mustang Island State Park.

“The dedication, sacrifice and service displayed by the women and men who serve in our country’s military are unparalleled and a source of pride across the country,” said Rodney Franklin, director of Texas State Parks . “To celebrate their service, Texas State Parks would like to once again invite everyone to spend the day for free in one of our beautiful state parks.”

The release said those planning a trip to a state park should reserve their day passes in advance for their visit. Some parks are expected to reach their capacity limit on Sunday.

Day passes can be booked online on the TPWD website, tpwd.texas.gov/stateparks/ or by calling (512) 389-8900.
