SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Sunday was a great day for people to get outside with family and friends to celebrate Easter and what better way to do that than with a traditional Easter egg hunt.

Skidaway Island State Park was a popular place on Sunday to do just that.

They held their annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. The scavenger hunt began at the visitor center and the series of clues led people through a one-mile loop around one of the park’s most popular trails, the Sandpiper Nature Trail.

Once an egg was found, he had another clue to help find the next one. Ultimately, the goal was for the children to find the golden egg.

Once they did, they received sweets to fill their Easter basket.

Park naturalist and event organizer Kaede Montooth says it’s exciting to have this because people can see what the park has to offer while still spending quality family time.

“I just love seeing people come to see our park, especially first-timers. It’s always great. I know the first time I came here it was great knowing it was here, so showing people that is a lot of fun,” said Kaede Montooth, organizer, Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt.

Montooth says they expected 200 or more people to come out and join the hunt.
