Packers’ training camp to include modified activities for fans
The Packers’ training camp, presented by Bellin Health, kicks off next week on Wednesday, July 28 at 10:10 a.m. While fans planning to attend training camp in the next month or so can expect to enjoy of workouts and family activities, fans should also expect several changes to the training camp experience in recent years.
Seating at Ray Nitschke Field will be available on a first come, first served basis and fans attending practice in designated seating areas or standing areas near the pitch will be required to verbally accept COVID health screening statements -19 in order to enter the viewing area. This year, the American Family Insurance DreamDrive will include a modified version of the training camp tradition where Packers players ride kids’ bikes to and from practice. Although the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols prevent players from riding and interacting with kids’ bikes directly, many players will continue to ride bikes to train on brand-new Schwinn bikes and fans of all. ages will be able to line up along the bike path and cheer as the players pass.
To encourage safe interaction in the long-distance tradition, the Packers and American Family Insurance are also launching the DreamDrive from home program, a community charity bike event where fans can register and commit to riding a specific number of miles at their favorite spots and at their own pace and convenience. For every mile committed and traveled, American Family will donate $ 1 to We All Rise. Established in 2017, We All Rise is a holistic resource center in Green Bay. The organization is committed to supporting and uplifting the black community through education, employment opportunities, safe housing, mental health services and more.
