The 2022 equine pleasure season is underway with the Newtown Bridle Lands Association (NBLA). The first event will be a group trip to Sherwood Island State Park in Westport for a beach ride on Friday, February 25, with an alternate date of Friday, March 4 if needed. The group hopes to involve both experienced surfers and beginners. Riders will leave at 11 a.m. to take advantage of low tide, which is the best time to ride as the sandbanks are exposed. Participants must be members of the NBLA and will need to arrange their own transportation. If interested, email [email protected]

On Saturday, April 23, there will be a walk-only hike through Huntington Park in Redding, followed by lunch. NBLA members who want to experience an easy and relaxed ride are encouraged to participate. Start time and location will be forthcoming.

It’s a great time to join the NBLA as a new year of fun activities begins. Individual ($45), family ($75), and barn ($125 for up to five riders; $30 per additional rider) memberships are available. To visit join.
