‘Almost Famous’ soundtrack gets expanded ‘Uber Deluxe’ box set
Cameron Crowe Almost known The soundtrack receives a slew of deluxe edition reissues, including a massive 13-disc “Uber Deluxe” box set, which hits shelves on July 9th.
The 2000 semi-autobiographical film serves as Crowe’s love letter to classic rock and fandoms who have supported their favorite hard-working, partying bands. The musical follows William Miller (Patrick Fugit), 15, a prodigious rock scribe who continues his first major story mission, a Rolling stone profile on the fictional and up-and-coming rock band Stillwater.
Crowe also scored his first Rolling stone cover story at age 16, spending three weeks on the road with the Allman Brothers Band and interviewing band members and the road crew.
“We are extremely proud to see Almost known with a very special generosity of kindness, “Crowe said in a press release.” For the first time ever, we’ve created a deluxe soundtrack that features nearly every song from the movie, plus Nancy Wilson’s wonderfully evocative score. the Almost known the reissue of the soundtrack will for the first time compile all of the music featured in the film. The soundtrack includes classic rock legends such as Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, The Who, Neil Young and Elton John (“Tiny Dancer” singing, anyone?), As well as dialogue snippets from the film, such as William’s mother begging him “Don’t do drugs!” in the parking lot in front of a Black Sabbath concert and Stillwater guitarist Russell Hammond proclaiming “I am a god of gold!” from a roof while tripping acid.
In total, the Uber box set contains 103 tracks spread over five CDs and seven 180-gram black vinyl LPs. It also includes a 7 “vinyl of Stillwater’s single,” Fever Dog “, a full version of William’s Rolling stone cover story about the band, a 40 page photo book, replica ticket stubs and more.
Fans who don’t want to splurge Almost known Uber Box Set can also choose from two different reissues of six LPs – one black vinyl, one color – a five-CD Super Deluxe set, a vinyl EP featuring all six Stillwater songs, a Record Store Day exclusive with seven original Stillwater demos (five performed by Wilson and two by Peter Frampton), a two-LP version of the soundtrack or a two-CD version of the soundtrack.
